Bilingual Support for Adaptation and School Integration Services for newcomers, students and their parents newly arrived in Canada (SWIS Program):

  • Individual and family counseling;
  • Information Sessions on educational system, Canadian laws, and values;
  • Socialization and Orientation workshops;
  • ‘Raising Awareness’ activities for school, staff and community members;
  • Promotion of cultural diversity;
  • Needs assessment and referrals to community resources or specialized services as required;
  • Accompaniment during specific meetings (with specialists in school, for administration purposes or during parent/teacher meetings, etc.);
  • Ensure and encourage communication between newcomers, schools and community organizations;
  • Foster community and school engagement.
