Job Information
The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) is seeking a highly motivated Financial Planning and Budget Coordinator to lead budgetary coordination for the department. As a key player in the planning, development, management, and analysis of program budgets, you will support the allocation of resources in alignment with the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) policies and senior management direction.
In this role, you will coordinate major budget exercises such as Business Plans, Main Estimates, and monthly and quarterly variance reports. You will ensure budget information is accurate, complete, and compliant with GNWT guidelines, and provide financial support to internal stakeholders and external agencies. This includes monitoring fiscal controls, performing variance analyses, and advising program managers on corrective actions.
You will also be responsible for maintaining financial systems, tracking submissions, and managing the department¿s budget-related documentation. Additionally, you will provide training on financial procedures to staff and ensure alignment with government regulations.
