Skills and Qualifications
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
- Minimum one-year Supervisory experience is required;
- Minimum three years Flight Attendant experience is required;
- Must have minimum grade 12 education;
- Previous Inflight instructor/trainer experience is an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required;
- Strong technical writing skills are required;
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment is required;
- Strong organizational and prioritizing skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time effectively, especially tight deadlines;
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with no stipulations;
- Ability to communicate in Inuktut a definite asset;
- Ability to obtain and retain an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety;
- Be the first point of contact to the Flight Attendants and provide support and mentorship;
- Review, action and follow up with Inflight reports and elevate safety concerns as needed;
- Action and respond to WCB/WSCC related employer reports;
- Work closely with Human Resources to support and ensure the use of attendance management and progressive discipline programs;
- Improvement initiatives and contribute to overall corporate objectives;
- Remain current in the Flight Attendant role and/or become a qualified Canadian North Flight Attendant;
- Work closely with Coordinators of Onboard Product to ensure the Inflight Service guidelines and Aurora Class Product considerations are included in all processes;
- Participate in and investigate all Inflight OTP irregularities and coding;
- Oversee the crew room, ensure mailboxes are maintained, necessary stock supplied;
- Ensure employee recognition program is fully supported and utilized;
- Respond to customer comments in a timely and appropriate manner;
- Management of the CUPE collective agreement, as well participate in Collective Bargaining;
- Must be able to travel to other bases regularly;
- Ensure all departmental policies and procedures are followed;
- Attend Operations meetings and provide updates as required;
- Conduct catering and service QA checks;
- Conduct non-regulatory Inflight training;
- Liaise with Crew Scheduling on daily issues to maintain Flight Attendant staffing;
- Participate with Human Resources with the recruitment of Flight Attendants;
- Regularly review the FAM and provide updates as required;
- Identify, correct and report issues of non-compliance to the Manager;
- Other duties as assigned.
