North of 60 Accounting Services is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Yellowknife. As a crucial member of our accounting team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive financial support to our clients across various industries.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and
compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries,
reconciliations, and accruals.
• Support in the preparation of tax returns and compliance filings for individuals (T1) and
corporations (T2)
• Assist in financial statement compilations and review engagements.
• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes and optimize financial
performance.
• Stay updated on relevant accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends to
ensure compliance and best practices.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (or working towards one) in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Actively pursuing CPA designation or similar preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or
similar setting.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, CaseWare Working
Papers or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with
clients and colleagues.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
