The NWT Brewing Company and associated brewpub, The Woodyard Brewhouse & Eatery, is seeking a professional line cook that has prior experience working in a commercial kitchen and can prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications. As a line cook, you must have the ability to work in a busy, fast-paced work environment that is very team oriented. We expect a positive attitude at work and with fellow employees at all times. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and success of the restaurant.
-Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
-Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
-Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
-Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
-Clean up station and take care of leftover food
-Stock inventory appropriately
-Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and timely fashion
-Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
-Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
-Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
-Ability to work in a high volume fast pace restaurant
-Proven ability to work unsupervised
-Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
-Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
1 year, 2 years and 3 years terms available.
If necessary, temporary staff housing will be available.
- Individuals will be paid wages bi-weekly and also receive gratuities biweekly
- Exact wages to be determined based on work term
- Starting wage is $17/hour
