Position: Journeyman Carpenter
Location: Fort Smith, NT
Type: Full-Time
Compensation: negotiable based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan construction projects.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials for structures such as walls, floors, doors, and frameworks.
  • Perform finish carpentry tasks, including cabinetry, moulding, and trim installations.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently, maintaining them in good working condition.
  • Supervise apprentices, assist team members as required, and work unsupervised.
  • Ensure all work adheres to building codes, safety standards, and project deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members.
  • Perform repairs, renovations, and maintenance as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certification as a Journeyman Carpenter (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in carpentry across various project types.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and using modern carpentry tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina to handle manual labour and lifting materials as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license.
