Description
This position will require the employee to be able to communicate both orally and written in the English language.
Duties:
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
Recruit and hire staff
Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
Create new recipes
Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
Education Requirements:
Cook Trade Certification, Safe Food Handling Certificate, , Food Safety Certificate, experience equivalencies accepted.
Work Experience Requirements:
We require a minimum of 5 years work experience
Wages:
The starting wages for this position are $18.73/hour, however following successful training and completion of review, this may be increased, by management guidelines.
