The 29th Employment Café: A fair that lived up to its promises

The Greenstone Building in Yellowknife hosted the 29th edition of the Employment Café on Wednesday, bringing together 20 exhibitors and approximately 80 job seekers. Among the attendees were newcomers eager to integrate into the workforce and local residents seeking new career opportunities.

The participating organizations offered job opportunities in key sectors of the territorial economy, including public services, security, hospitality, food services, mining, education, and healthcare. This diversity not only reflects the vitality of the job market in the Northwest Territories but also highlights the growing willingness of employers to enhance their visibility and connect with talent across the region.

Discussions throughout the event revealed a strong interest in stable employment, opportunities for continuous training, and career advancement across various industries. Participants also emphasized the importance of having such a local networking platform, allowing them to better understand recruiters’ expectations and present their background directly and authentically.
