CDETNO, in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), is pleased to invite Francophone temporary residents to an informative immigration webinar.
In light of the numerous changes recently introduced to immigration policies and programs in Canada, many temporary residents are left with questions and uncertainties about the next steps in their immigration journey.
To help clarify these concerns, CDETNO, in collaboration with IRCC, is organizing an online information session tailored for Francophone temporary residents living in the Northwest Territories.
This webinar aims to provide up-to-date, clear, and accessible answers to the most frequently asked questions, and to help participants better understand their rights, responsibilities, and available pathways to permanent residency.
Topics to be covered during the session include:
🔹 Work Permits: Overview of the different types, application conditions, possible restrictions, associated rights, and short- and long-term implications.
🔹 Extension or Renewal of Work Permits: How to prepare for renewal, meet deadlines, submit strong applications, and avoid lapses in status.
🔹 Rights and Responsibilities of both workers and employers: A reminder of legal obligations, labor standards, and possible courses of action in case of issues.
🔹 Pathways to Permanent Residency: An overview of federal and territorial programs (Express Entry, Territorial Nominee Program, Francophone Stream, etc.), eligibility criteria, procedures, and average processing times.
🔹 Additional related topics: Administrative steps, access to services, implications of status changes, and more.
