Finding the best talent and developing local businesses

CDETNO is proud to continue the tradition of the Employment Café by inviting Yellowknife businesses and job seekers to the 29th edition, taking place on May 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Greenstone Building, 5101, 50th Avenue.

In a time when the Northwest Territories job market is experiencing a decline in temporary workers, this career fair presents a valuable opportunity for job seekers of all levels—including students, recent graduates, and experienced professionals—to connect directly with local employers.

” These career fairs are essential in bridging the gap between employers and job seekers, promoting community growth and strengthening local economies,” says Noma Mangena, VP of People for Det’on Cho Management LP.

The face-to-face nature of the event also helps facilitate strong follow-up and successful integration for newcomers to the NWT job market, or those considering a career shift.

“Thanks to the Employment Café, I joined a recruitment program that turned out to be incredibly rewarding. Although I’m not originally a truck driver, this opportunity helped me broaden my skill set and opened new doors,” says a current Best Movers employee, hired during a past edition.

Companies who wish to reserve a table should email emplois@cdetno.com with their contact information and their logo. CDETNO’s employability officer, Jules Wache, will follow up with this designated person and will be available to answer any questions. Companies unable to attend the event in person can also promote their job openings by emailing them. Our website will also feature all job offers we receive for one week following the event.

There is no pre-registration required for job seekers to attend the fair. There will be coffee available.

The last edition of Employment Café, held in October 2024, brought together over 100 visitors and 18 employers.
