Celebrating the First Cohort of the Administrative Skills Building Program

The NWT Career Centre in collaboration with the Native Women’s Association of the NWT is pleased to celebrate the successful completion of the first cohort of the Administrative Skills Building (ASB) ProgramFunded by GNWT – ECE North Slave. Over the past ten weeks, seven women dedicated themselves to enhancing their administrative skills, gaining valuable micro-credentials, and building confidence for the workforce.

The ASB program provided comprehensive training in Microsoft 365 Copilot applications, training in a host of professional administrative skills, six micro-credential certifications, eight interactive workshops, and four sections on employment readiness. The program concluded with completing a capstone community engagement project that allowed the group to apply their newly enhanced skills in a real-world setting, the ASB Completion Ceremony.

The supportive learning environment fostered a strong sense of community, with participants encouraging and uplifting one another throughout the journey.

The NWT Career Centre team looks forward to welcoming future cohorts and continuing to enhance the pool of administrative professionals with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in administrative roles.
