CDETNO is launching a two-week Career Skills for Newcomer Women Program. This program funded through RDÉE Canada includes over 30 hours of instruction, workshops, and professional training with referrals to CDETNO services and partner organizations, relevant to each woman’s unique career goals.
This exclusive training offer through NWT Career Centre is open to those who identify as bilingual newcomer women including permanent residents, refugees, and temporary residents such as students or workers.
French-language assistance will be provided, but individuals should be functioning at a level 2 or higher in their Essential Skills (250+ IRT Score), and require command of the English language at Canadian Language Benchmarks Level 6, or higher. Participants must have basic computer skills, such as the ability to use the internet, documents, and e-mail.
This two-week program will be in-person at the Career Training Centre, 4915 53rd Street, Yellowknife from March 3 to March 14, 2025.
Participants will gain proficiency in Microsoft 365 Co-pilot, Client, and Customer Service Communication and enhance their knowledge of resumes, job search and interview techniques. Additionally, the program will work with individuals to connect with resources and identify barriers to career progression.
