CDETNO presented the NWT directly to over 1,200 people in Paris, France and Douala, Cameroon as part of Destination Canada between February 14 and 20, 2025. The team was mandated to represent 10 employers who are looking for talent to fill some forty vacant positions. It was an opportunity to meet enthusiastic people with interesting profiles who could be good resources for the NWT economy.

According to CDETNO Executive Director François Afane, the edition was pleasantly successful, particularly in Cameroon.
“In Paris, we are used to the routine, we found interesting candidates, including many pvtistes who are ready […]. The big surprise was really in Cameroon. People were very apprehensive since it was the first time we came to sub-Saharan Africa, we didn’t know what to expect, but I went around the delegation and there were interesting profiles in the technical field and bilingualism was also quite well represented,” he explains.

Destination Canada is an annual event that brings together representatives of Canadian Provinces and Territories outside Quebec, as well as the Federal Immigration Services (IRCC).
The forum ends with an online format on March 3, 4 and 5, 2025.
